Tie Headband DIY

Don't you just love how headbands can fix even the worst hair days?  I'm loving the fifties style top knot at the moment and so decided to make one today.

The best bit? It requires very little fabric and as long as you can sew a straight (ish) line and tie a knot, you're all set!

1. Cut a strip of fabric twice the width + seam allowance that you would like your headband to be.  Wrap the strip around your head and tie to measure the length you need it be. My fabric was not quite long enough as it was just a scrap so I had to sew two pieces together to create the length I needed.

2. Iron the fabric in half with right sides together and snip a triangle off each end to create a tapered finish.

3. Sew with right sides together leaving a small gap to turn it the right way.  (I recommend not leaving a gap at the end as it makes creating the point difficult.) Turn headband right way out, iron flat and stitch the opening.

4. Put on your headband and make like a fifties housewife.  (or not)

So... what do you think?  Simple, right?
