Little adventurer.

It appears we have a little adventurer.  He crawls away from me at every opportunity in order to explore and inevitably ends up finding everything potentially dangerous.

Even when we are out he happily stomps away and pulls himself up on every glass window or mirror, which I'm sure makes shop assistants very happy.

I find it hard to walk the line between letting him get into 'trouble' which I know he needs to do in order to learn and being there to catch him when he falls.  Needless to say in the past few days we have had countless spills, bumps and tears.

Gates went up today as he has just learnt there is life outside our front area, specifically edible dirt and rocks.  I think the pictures pretty accurately tell the story of how impressed he was by being locked in.

He barely napped today, ripped his cot apart and threw things over the edge instead of sleeping.  I think tomorrow we will need to let this little adventurer out in hope he wears himself out.  I'm exhausted.

  1. Cute! I can't wait until we can let our daughter crawl around outside. Or maybe she'll be walking by then. Crazy.

  2. Those pictures are just adorable!

Toddler C went through an adventurer stage right about when he was learning how to walk...luckily we escaped without too many incidents and now he seems pretty content within his boundaries.
And I don't know about Eamon but putting Toddler C in the pram and walking him to sleep works every time!

    1. It used to work for us, but at the moment only the car is fool proof.

  3. Wearing out is the best thing you can do with an adventurer! Also pray he doesn't figure out climbing!

  4. Very sweet pics! Daily i try and find new activities to wear out my little one in hopes of a nice long lunchtime nap. Such a needed little break each day, i never want her to stop napping. Hope he continues for you for a long time ;-)
